After the expiration of the natural gas price capping scheme on March 31, the offers on the ANRE comparator indicate an increase in prices, with values between 0.32 and 0.41 lei/kWh, exceeding the current price of 0.31 lei/kWh. The president of the Intelligent Energy Association, Dumitru Chisăliță, emphasizes that these prices reflect not only costs but also commercial risks and a trend of increasing profit margins. In the absence of clear regulation, suppliers are calling for quick decisions regarding the future of the capping scheme. The Minister of Energy has proposed support for vulnerable consumers, but the impact of rising prices will affect both consumers and the state, through an increase in VAT. Chisăliță warns that the price differences reflect not only the costs of gas but also a paradigm shift in how risks are assessed by suppliers. This will have a significant impact on consumers, who could pay up to 3000 lei/year more for gas.
