A serious incident occurred at the Ukrainian-Romanian border when the driver of a foreign-registered Range Rover SUV attempted to force passage, ignoring the requirements of the border police. During the maneuver, he hit a border police officer, causing him multiple serious injuries. The victim was hospitalized and operated on, but is no longer in danger of death. After the incident, authorities found the abandoned vehicle and detained six individuals who were in the car at the time of the illegal crossing attempt. Searches for identifying and capturing the driver are ongoing.
