Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that it is hard to assume that a reformed government in coalition can function efficiently, following Sorin Grindeanu's appeal.
Bolojan emphasized that previous discussions were blocked by PSD's demands, which wanted exclusive support from right-wing parties for a PSD prime minister. Now, Grindeanu seems open to proposals for successive governments, but the main issue remains the loss of trust between parties. Bolojan called for a reciprocity agreement, with clear guarantees for the implementation of necessary measures for Romania.
He mentioned that one cannot expect an automatic stabilization of the situation, highlighting the need for an understanding formula to unblock the process of absorbing European funds. Bolojan concluded that, in the current situation, the only viable options are minority governments or those of an armistice type, with a well-defined duration.
