Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated on Sunday, in a message on Facebook, that Romania firmly condemns the violation of its airspace by the Russian Federation, in the context of the incidents in recent days, when Russian drones entered Romanian airspace and were shot down by F-16 aircraft.
"We firmly condemn the violation of Romanian airspace by the Russian Federation, which we consider unacceptable," Bolojan wrote on Facebook.
The interim Prime Minister praised the intervention of the Romanian Air Forces and cooperation with NATO allies, stating that recent actions demonstrate "firmness and courage" in defending national territory and represent the necessary response to any threat, including illegal violations of air or maritime space.
At the same time, Ilie Bolojan thanked the Romanian pilots and military personnel and allies involved in these missions.
The interim Prime Minister added that the recent incidents are a consequence of the aggression war that the Russian Federation has been waging against Ukraine for over four years.
