Ilie Bolojan, the Prime Minister of Romania, published his engineering and mathematics degree diplomas from the University of Timișoara on Thursday, in response to articles questioning the duration of his studies. Bolojan explained that he completed his mandatory military service before starting university, which created a gap between finishing high school and beginning university studies. He specified that the Mathematics specialization offered two tracks: one of 3 years for teaching at the gymnasium level and one of 5 years for high school.

Bolojan chose the 3-year program, considering it sufficient for his career. The Prime Minister emphasized that all information about his educational background is clear and compliant with legal regulations, wanting to eliminate speculation on this matter. The University of Timișoara confirmed that Bolojan obtained his diploma in June 1993, as stated in the published documents.
