Henri Coandă Airport is undergoing a major modernization process, which will include over 5,000 parking spaces, a new bus station, and easier access for check-in. Currently, the Arrivals terminal parking is under renovation, and passengers wishing to take buses 100 or 442 must move to the Departures terminal, as the buses no longer stop at Arrivals.
Car access is limited to the ground floor, where only 150 spaces are available, insufficient for a traffic of 50,000 passengers per day. The works will last at least a year, and by next year, two new parking areas with over 2,000 spaces will be available. The airport spokesperson, Teodor Postelnicu, mentioned that modernization works are also being carried out inside, including the replacement of electrical installations and the air conditioning system. Additionally, self-service kiosks and drop-off points for luggage will be installed by the end of the year.
