The Henri Coandă International Airport in Bucharest will introduce a flight coordination system, signing an agreement with Airport Coordination Limited, a global leader in the field. This change, which will come into effect on October 25, 2026, will allow for efficient planning of landings and takeoffs, optimizing the operational capacity of the airport.
The airport, which has managed over 17 million passengers and 127,700 flights, will benefit from level 3 coordination, ensuring fixed slots for airlines. This will reduce congestion during peak hours, improving the punctuality and predictability of operations. The implementation of this system is an important step towards modernizing the airport and will contribute to the continuous growth of Bucharest's connectivity.
Neil Garwood, CEO of Airport Coordination Limited, emphasized the importance of this partnership, highlighting the growing demand for air services.
