The incident occurred at 3pm when the pilot of an aircraft noticed the objects on the runway. For safety reasons, he notified the control tower and the runway was closed for about 15-20 minutes to allow crews to check the area. The investigation indicated that an employee of a Romanian airline left the pliers and screwdriver on the landing gear and they fell onto the runway during take-off.
