The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, declared on Wednesday evening that the measure regarding the payment for vaccines is enforceable, which means that Romania will have to transfer the amount to an account, even if an appeal is made.

He emphasized that the Ministry of Health currently does not have this amount in the budget and that discussions will follow with the Ministry of Finance to find a financial solution. Rogobete mentioned that the doses ordered from Pfizer exceed the population of Romania, including booster doses, and that there are contracts with three other companies as well. He also explained that the money will most likely come from the state budget, but the details of the financial mechanism will be established later.
