In a measure designed to combat fraud in the health system, the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, has announced that SMS validation of services provided by family doctors and specialized outpatient clinics will soon be implemented. This measure will ensure that medical services are only paid for if patients receive a confirmation code via SMS, thus preventing the payment of fictitious services. Rogobete pointed out that in the past there have been cases where doctors have used patient codes to obtain unjustified settlements.
