The leaders of the PSD-PNL-USR-UDMR governing coalition agreed on Tuesday on a legislative package that brings harsher penalties for individuals who do not pay their traffic fines and local taxes.
Among the most important changes agreed upon is the prohibition of selling or buying real estate and vehicles for individuals with outstanding debts to the local budget. A person will not be able to buy or sell a property or a vehicle unless they have paid their local taxes.
If a driver does not pay their traffic fines within 90 working days, their driving license is automatically suspended.
Additionally, the suspended driving license can only be regained if the person has paid their fines and local taxes.
