As of May 2025, there was a 0.5% increase in compulsory home insurance policies, with 71.1% of these policies written in urban areas. The majority of policies are for type A dwellings (94.2%), with most active policies in Transylvania (20.7%). PAID has been issuing these insurances since July 2010, with the aim of protecting dwellings against the risks of natural catastrophes. Policies cost 130 lei for type A and 50 euro for type B.
