The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Sorin Grindeanu, has said that state reform must start with those in high positions, not ordinary workers. This was his reaction after the Parliament voted an amendment to the Statute of Deputies and Senators, banning the reimbursement of rent expenses for those who own homes in Bucharest or Ilfov. Grindeanu promised a package of measures that will reduce parliamentary privileges and help Romania's economy.
