The Romanian government plans to implement a €300 million state aid scheme for geothermal energy production and transportation projects, using funds from the sale of CO2 emission certificates. The scheme aims to support investments in geothermal renewable energy to improve energy efficiency, with a budget of €50 million annually over six years. Around 9 beneficiaries could receive aid, each with access to around €33.3 million, including administrative-territorial units and thermal energy producers.
