The Romanian Government has decided to allocate 17.8 million lei from the Budget Reserve Fund for the purchase of water desalination equipment in Mures County, following an ecological disaster caused by the water intrusion in the Praid salt works. The measure targets the towns of Târnăveni, Fântânele and Suplac, which were left without drinking water. The Ministry of Development will transfer the funds to the local authorities to start the intervention process, and in the long term alternative water supply solutions will be sought.
