Following checks carried out by the Giurgiu Border Police, 3,945,000 undeclared cigarettes worth almost 6 million lei were discovered and confiscated. They were found in trucks and cars driven by Romanian and Bulgarian citizens who were unable to produce documents of origin. Fines were also imposed for illegal possession of excise goods. All the confiscated cigarettes were placed in the institution's crime room.
