The leader of AUR, George Simion, falsely claims that his party was the only one that voted against the Justice laws of 2022, but the official data from Parliament contradicts him. According to statistics, both in the Senate and in the Chamber of Deputies, USR and several independent parliamentarians also voted against. In the Senate, 37 senators rejected the legislative packages, including 20 from USR and 12 from AUR, while in the Chamber of Deputies, the votes against consistently exceeded 70, with a significant share from USR and the independents. Thus, Simion's statement, made in the context of the scandal related to the Recorder documentary about the Justice laws promoted by Cătălin Predoiu, is not supported by official data.
