The president of AUR, George Simion, requested the resignation of Ilie Bolojan from the position of prime minister, after the Constitutional Court declared the law on judges' pensions unconstitutional, considering that it violates 37 mandatory decisions of the CCR and fundamental principles of the rule of law.
Simion stated on Facebook that the resignation would be an "honorable gesture".
The High Court emphasized that the law violates principles such as the independence of the judiciary and legality, and that it did not respect the opinion of the Superior Council of Magistracy.
