 
            In an interview, four-star general Ștefan Dănilă, former chief of the General Staff of the Romanian Army, emphasized that the reduction of the American military presence in Romania, along with the lack of a U.S. ambassador in Bucharest, suggests a downgrade in Washington's interest in the country. Dănilă mentioned that this reduction was predictable, considering the announcements from the spring of this year and the budgetary changes in the United States.
He explained that, following funding cuts, soldiers from the 3rd Infantry Division will no longer be sent to Romania, in contrast to the maintenance of presence in Poland. The general emphasized that this situation should be a "cold shower" for Romania, which considers itself an important pillar in the region, but is seeing a decrease in military support compared to other Eastern European states.
