Victor Negrescu, MEP, drew attention to the United States' decision to withdraw some of its troops from Romania, considering it a serious alarm signal. He emphasized that the resizing of military presence on NATO's Eastern Flank, including at Mihail Kogălniceanu, has direct implications for the security of Romania and the Black Sea region. Negrescu called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense to clarify the situation and propose quick solutions to strengthen relations with the USA. He also highlighted the importance of accelerating President Nicușor Dan's visit to the United States, to reaffirm Romania's strategic partnership and underline the necessity for the Black Sea region to remain a priority for NATO, the EU, and the USA. Negrescu mentioned that Romania must become a pillar of stability at the eastern border of the European Union.
