Four men, aged between 37 and 64, have been sent to trial for forming an organized criminal group and trafficking high-risk drugs, in a case handled by DIICOT. They are suspected of having introduced cocaine from Colombia, concealed in flower boxes. Two of them are in preventive detention, while the other two, with dual Romanian-Moldovan and Romanian-Ukrainian citizenship, are wanted. Investigators discovered 603 boxes containing over 252 kilograms of cocaine and a clandestine drug laboratory in Brașov County.
The group was coordinated by a 64-year-old man, and the drugs were introduced under the cover of legal imports. Prosecutors have requested an extension of preventive detention for the two defendants and the arrest in absentia of those evading investigation. The case has been forwarded to the Brașov Tribunal for resolution.
