Alin-Nicușor Tăraș, the former head of the Oradea Special Operations Brigade, and Sebastian-Marius Suciu, the former head of the Filaje Office, have been sent to trial for the improper use of the institution's official lists, transferring personal vehicles onto the lists of operational vehicles.
The estimated damage by the prosecutors is 58,400 lei, representing unpaid parking fees owed to the Oradea City Hall. According to the indictment, Suciu prepared the documents, and Tăraș allegedly urged him to do so. The lists contained license plate numbers of the personal cars of the police officers and their relatives, and were sent to the City Hall with the signature of the chief inspector of the Bihor Police Inspectorate.
The City Hall announced that it will seek to recover the damages, emphasizing that all citizens must pay for parking. Tăraș is also involved in another trial related to an accusation of usurpation of function, concerning information provided improperly.
