The car manufacturer Ford announced on Tuesday that the temporary halt of production in Romania is a decision related to the planned summer vacation, not to the energy deficit in the country.
A spokesperson for Ford emphasized that the suspension of activity is not a reaction to the energy crisis, but a planned measure.
The statement comes in the context of the claims of interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, who indicated that large energy consumers, such as Dacia and Ford, have suspended production due to the energy crisis.
Romania is facing an acute electricity crisis due to drought and heat waves, which has led to the shutdown of a reactor at the Cernavodă nuclear power plant.
