An investigation is underway at the Ford Otosan factory in Craiova following suspicions that parts and goods were being removed from the facility. The information was published by the local press in Olt, as cited by Economedia, and the checks reportedly concern several employees, including people in management positions.
According to the publication Altă Știre, dismissals and resignations allegedly took place as a result of the situation. The cited sources claim that, over the years, a mechanism may have operated through which certain goods were removed from the factory. Among the suspicions mentioned are those relating to cars listed as intended for scrapping.
The information emerges in the context of the auction market being used by some companies as a way to capitalize on assets and diversify their activities. For now, it is unclear what goods may have been removed, during which period, and what the value of any potential loss may be.
Representatives of Ford Otosan Romania neither confirmed nor denied the existence of the investigation in responses sent to requests from G4Media and Economedia. However, the company stated that it had not identified any cases involving the removal of cars and that it had not filed criminal complaints against its own employees or third parties.
