The authorities in Kiev confirmed on Friday that the maritime drone that exploded in the Port of Constanța was Ukrainian, but they claim it was jammed by Moscow.

"While carrying out tasks in the operational area of the Black Sea, one of the unmanned naval vessels of the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost control and drifted off the coast of Romania. The Ukrainian naval military forces provided the necessary information to the Romanian military-maritime forces to prevent losses among the civilian population," the Ukrainian navy stated in a Facebook post.

We remind that a maritime drone was discovered near the headquarters of the Romanian Agency for Human Life Saving at Sea and self-detonated around 10:30 AM.

The Ministry of National Defense confirmed that no casualties were reported, and the area was secured by the SRI, the Coast Guard, and the Ministry of National Defense.

The Ministry of National Defense specified that the drone was similar to those used in the war in Ukraine.

The case is currently being investigated by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Constanța Court of Appeal.
