On Friday evening, a fire devastated about 25 hectares of reed, woodland and dry vegetation in the Danube Delta, caused by the use of unattended fire. The fire broke out between the villages of Murighiol and Mahmudia, and firefighters intervened with five fire engines to prevent the blaze from spreading, threatening nearby animal savannas. This is just one of the many fires that have affected Tulcea county this summer, with a total area of around 2,000 hectares affected.
