On Saturday evening, a fire broke out at Pensiunea Casa Teo in the locality of Mahmudia, Tulcea County, where there were 31 tourists (26 adults and 5 minors) and 15 employees. Everyone managed to evacuate before the firefighters arrived, and representatives of ISU Tulcea confirmed that no victims or individuals were reported trapped inside. The fire was reported through a call to 112, which mentioned smoke and flames at the roof of the building, which also includes a restaurant on the ground floor.

At the scene, over 20 firefighters intervened with four fire trucks and a ladder truck, working to prevent the spread of the fire to the public catering area. The administrator of the guesthouse suffered minor burns to the upper limbs but refused transport to the hospital. The fire is manifesting with open flames at the roof, and the intervention is still actively ongoing.
