The Oradea - Arad Express Road project could start to be realized this summer, according to the announcement by the general director of the National Company for Road Investments (CNIR), Gabriel Budescu. The project was initially delayed by the National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR), which organized the tenders but postponed the order to start the works until next year.
Recently, the Minister of Transport issued an order for the handover of the project to CNIR, which has begun discussions with the contractors. The project is divided into three lots, each having designated contractors. Although CNAIR announced that the works will only begin in March 2027, CNIR aims to start the works this summer, taking advantage of the favorable season. Budescu emphasized that discussions are ongoing with the contractors to establish a concrete schedule for the works, but he could not provide an exact date for their start.
