The explosion on Friday morning of a building in the Rahova neighborhood of Bucharest is believed to have been caused by an apartment boiler that blew up, according to the building administrator. Residents mentioned that the gas supply was turned off at the time of the incident, suggesting a possible gas leak.

At the scene, 10 fire trucks, 2 ladder trucks, 2 rescue vehicles, and 3 SMURD ambulances, among other emergency equipment, intervened. From the initial information, 11 people were affected, and two have died. The Ministry of Health has set up a crisis cell to manage the situation.
