An explosion without fire occurred at the Lukoil refinery in Ploiești, injuring a 57-year-old man.

On Monday afternoon, an explosion, followed by a fire, occurred at the Lukoil refinery in Ploiești, which is under maintenance. The Prahova Emergency Situations Inspectorate intervened with a mobile intensive care team to assess and transport a 57-year-old man, conscious, who suffered a cranio-facial injury and an injury to his left lower limb. The victim was transported to the emergency room in Ploiești.

The explosion took place at the Petrotel Lukoil refinery site, which is engaged in the production and distribution of petroleum products. Maintenance activities had started a few days before the incident.
