On Monday morning, an explosion at the Kronospan chipboard factory in Sebeș was caused by a mechanical spark in the piping inside the hall. The incident resulted in injuries to four people, two of whom suffered burns, while the other two had polytrauma. Firefighters from Alba, Sibiu, and Mureș counties intervened to extinguish the fire, which generated a column of flames visible from a distance. An insider mentioned that the explosion occurred at a bunker where materials were being mixed, indicating a mechanical problem.
