A 24-year-old inmate, Ionuț Văcărașu, escaped on Thursday evening from the Poarta Albă Penitentiary in Constanța County. Sentenced to four years and several months in prison for aggravated robbery, he was in a semi-open regime. The incident occurred around 6:20 PM when Văcărașu presented himself at the medical office for treatment, after which he jumped over the prison wall and headed towards the fields.
Prison representatives activated specific measures to capture him, including blocking access routes and sending search teams. Leaving the detention facility without authorization is considered an escape offense, punishable by imprisonment from 6 months to 3 years. The inmate is described as being 1.65 meters tall, athletic build, green eyes, short light blonde hair, and tattoos on his fingers. At the time of the escape, he was wearing black pants, a black jacket, and a black beanie with a yellow sign.
