A 37-year-old man, sentenced to 11 years and four months in prison for rape, escaped on Tuesday from a work point of the Craiova Penitentiary. After the escape, he was identified in the outskirts of the Brabova commune, Dolj County. Upon seeing the police, he fled towards a forest, ignoring the legal warnings issued by the authorities. The police, including fighters from the Special Actions Service, fired warning shots, and subsequently shot at him, causing him injuries. The man was immediately resuscitated by medical teams. The case has been taken over by the Prosecutor's Office next to the Dolj Tribunal for further investigations.
