Officials from the Environmental Guard emphasized on Sunday the importance of official reports to combat violations of environmental legislation, stating that posts on social media do not provide sufficient legal leverage for intervention.
Although they appreciate civic spirit, the Environmental Guard explained that to trigger official inspections and apply sanctions, it is necessary to make reports in accordance with O.G. no. 27/2002. The institution detailed the correct ways to report, including using the online form on the official website or sending an email to the County Commissariat.
It is essential that reports contain complete identification data, the exact location of the act, a description of the incident, and concrete evidence, such as photographs or video clips. The Environmental Guard encouraged citizens to turn online reactions into legal actions to protect the environment.
