The Environmental Agreement for the Bucharest - Alexandria Highway has been issued, announces the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Transport, Ionel Scrioșteanu.

This represents a preliminary stage in the approval and endorsement of the Feasibility Study. The final route of the highway has not yet been established, but it is desired to be complemented with the development strategies of the counties it will traverse. The highway will have a length of 77 km, divided into 3 sections, and will include 47 passages and viaducts, as well as 10 road junctions. The project will contribute to alleviating traffic congestion on DN6, which is extremely crowded. The bidding for the execution of the works is planned to start by the end of 2025.

Public debates for obtaining the Environmental Agreement began on January 27, 2025, marking an important step in the realization of this infrastructure project.
