The Bucharest Municipal Committee for Emergency Situations will meet on Saturday, October 24, at 2:30 p.m., to analyze the situation of a building in Drumul Taberei, where cracks have appeared between two stairwells of the building. The authorities will urgently assess the building and decide whether the residents can return to their apartments.

As of the latest update, 65 people have been evacuated from the building. Among them are people with mobility problems. All utilities to the affected building have been shut off as a precautionary measure.

The condition of the building and possible technical solutions are being assessed at the scene. Representatives of the State Inspectorate for Construction have stated that the expert is “quite optimistic” and is expected to propose the necessary measures.

The decision regarding the residents’ return will be made after the assessment is completed and the building’s safety level is established. The committee meeting brings together all the institutions responsible for managing the situation.
