According to Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan, electricity consumption has decreased by 1% since the beginning of the year and by 6% in the last 3 months. Despite a peak consumption of 7,900-8,000 MW, Romania imports energy at high prices. Solar capacity has increased by 800 MW and the number of prosumers has reached 228,000, including 28,000 companies. Ivan emphasizes the importance of energy projects to increase production capacities, estimating 1,500 MW installed by 2026 to balance the energy system.
