ELCEN has announced that the current priority is to maintain the operation of the heating system under maximum safety conditions, following the recent explosion at CET Vest. The company's teams are carrying out complex technical evaluation activities of the affected installations to determine the condition of the equipment and the necessary intervention steps. The Ministry of Energy has confirmed that the electricity supply to the population has not been interrupted, and the National Energy System took over the task immediately through the Transelectrica networks. Although a small part of the consumption was stopped for eight minutes at the beginning of the fire, the flames did not reach the units of the combined cycle power plant, the fire being limited to two transformers. ELCEN officials emphasize that they are evaluating the technical solutions necessary to restore the installations to a safe condition and to ensure the continuity of the thermal energy supply.
