The general mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, and the Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, announced a collaboration between ELCEN and Termoenergetica to address issues in the heating system, caused by failures at thermal power plants, especially at CET Sud. Following a recent failure at a boiler, it was decided to increase the water flow to maintain heat in Bucharest.

However, ELCEN has reduced the flow and pressure of water in the network to prevent equipment damage and failures in the chain, which are essential for the system to operate under winter conditions. The mayor assured that the system will continue to function, albeit in emergency mode, and specialists will increase the flow from other plants to improve the situation. Bogdan Ivan emphasized the importance of quick repairs to avoid a long-term shutdown of the heating service.
