The Department for Emergency Situations (DSU) sent a control team to Bacău County to verify the response to the case of an eighth-grade student from Parincea who died at school . Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and the management of the Bacău Ambulance Service are conducting their own checks.

The incident occurred during a break, and the teaching staff provided first aid until the ambulance arrived.

Asked on Digi24 why the first ambulance arrived without a doctor in the context of the case being classified as a red code, DSU chief Raed Arafat stated that a "red code does not automatically mean that the vehicle leaves with a doctor."

"A red code means that a vehicle is sent as close as possible, and yes, a vehicle with a doctor can be sent in support or even a helicopter or another resource. The fact that the first vehicle arrives with paramedics or with a nurse does not mean that an inadequate resource was sent, because they also have the training and knowledge necessary to start resuscitation and to continue it. The nurse, according to regulations, must know how to carry out a full resuscitation, including with medication administration," Arafat explained.

Arafat added that, based on preliminary data, there was only one vehicle with a doctor available in the county.

DSU announced that it will verify how the medical intervention was managed, emphasizing that it is premature to draw conclusions before the completion of the inspection.

Additionally, the Bacău Police Inspectorate has launched a criminal investigation to determine the circumstances of the death, regarding the commission of the crime of manslaughter. The checks are being conducted in cooperation with the responsible structures to clarify all aspects related to the intervention.
