A group of drones was identified Wednesday morning near Romanian airspace, heading towards Vâlcove, according to the Ministry of National Defense (MApN), which triggered the alert mechanisms.
At 02:37, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations sent a RO-Alert message to the population in the northern part of Tulcea County. To monitor the situation, two F-16 aircraft of the Romanian Air Forces took off from the 86th Air Base in Fetești, and the anti-aircraft defense systems were prepared for intervention. Subsequently, a second group of drones was detected moving towards Ismail, generating a new RO-Alert message at 05:08. MApN confirmed that no unauthorized incursions into Romanian airspace were recorded, and the air alert status was lifted at 05:42.
