The Ministry of National Defense (MApN) announced that a group of twenty aerial drones from the Russian Federation was detected by Romanian radars, in the direction of the locality of Ismail, Ukraine. Around 02:00, two F-16 aircraft from the Air Police combat service took off from the 86th Air Base in Fetești to monitor the situation. On the morning of Saturday, May 2, Russia resumed attacks on civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine, near the river border with Romania. The National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, instituting measures to alert the population in the northern part of Tulcea County through the RO-Alert message. Radars detected a drone that temporarily entered national airspace, in the Chilia area, continuing its course towards Ismail. Explosions were reported on the Ukrainian bank of the Danube, and the air alert was lifted at 02:50. MApN maintains communication with allied structures to provide real-time information about the situations generated by the attacks.
