On the night of November 18 to 19, two German Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft from Base 57 Mihail Kogălniceanu took off to monitor the air situation at the border with Ukraine, following Russian airstrikes. At 00:20, a Ro-Alert message was sent for the northern part of Tulcea County, signaling the presence of a drone that penetrated approximately 8 km into national airspace. The drone reappeared on radar from the Republic of Moldova, and another Ro-Alert message was issued for Galați County.
Additionally, two F-16 aircraft of the Romanian Air Forces were scrambled for intervention. The Eurofighters landed at 01:50, and the F-16s at 02:30, with no ground incidents reported. Specialist teams are ready to begin ground searches.
