Dominic Fritz, the president of USR, stated that although he desires a coalition with a common vision, the current coalition has as its only common direction the maintenance of Romania in Europe and the avoidance of insolvency. He acknowledged that the fight against corruption and privileges is a daily challenge, mentioning that there are forces within the coalition that wish to maintain the status quo, in contrast to those that aspire to change. Fritz emphasized the need to reduce state privileges and to improve the delivery of results for citizens, but he mentioned that there is not always consensus regarding these measures.
