DNSC warns: Fraudulent SMS campaign for false fines / Messages contain dangerous links

The National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC) has issued a warning regarding a fraudulent campaign that continues through SMS messages.

Criminals send SMS messages claiming that recipients have fines or outstanding taxes to pay, trying to get them to access a link for "payment" or "verification of details." The messages are written in an urgent tone and threaten with penalties or additional fees.

DNSC experts recommend that users be alert to warning signs, such as requests to access links from SMS messages and web domains that imitate official sites. It is essential to verify payment obligations through official channels and not to enter personal data on suspicious websites. In case users have already provided card details, it is recommended to contact the bank immediately.
