The DNA prosecutors in Timișoara are investigating one of the major ride-sharing companies in Romania, suspected of having harmed the state by failing to pay tax contributions for several years, according to judicial sources. Although it has not been confirmed whether it is about Uber or Bolt, the estimated damage exceeds 30 million lei and could increase. ANAF has discovered similar practices among alternative transport companies, such as paying drivers under the table and not declaring income, estimating a total damage of 175 million lei across the entire sector.
