DNA chief prosecutor Marius Voineag said that the stenograms in Cristian Popescu Piedone's case were used to prove his frequent use of the driver's cell phone. Voineag stressed that DNA had no involvement in publicizing these private conversations, which affected the suspect's right to privacy. Minister of Justice Radu Marinescu condemned the publication of the evidence as a violation of the law. Piedone is under judicial control on corruption charges.
