DNA searches at the home of Dinu Iancu Sălăjanu, president of the Sălaj County Council and PNL leader, in a corruption and money laundering case.

On Wednesday, DNA prosecutors conducted searches at the Sălaj County Council and at the home of the president of the County Council, Dinu Iancu Sălăjan, a PNL leader in Sălaj. The action lasted over eight hours and took place in the context of investigations regarding suspicions of corruption and money laundering related to public procurement from 2022 to the present.

Dinu Iancu Sălăjan, a well-known folk music singer, joined PNL in 2020 and was elected president of the Sălaj County Council, a mandate he regained last year. At the same time, prosecutors also raided the home of the president of the Bistrița-Năsăud County Council, Radu Moldovan, as part of the same investigation. The actions were coordinated by competent courts, and Sălăjan's office was sealed. In total, 69 locations in several counties were targeted, including in France, as part of a European investigation order.
