DIICOT prosecutors, together with police officers from the Criminal Investigation Directorate, conducted searches in Cluj and Maramureș counties, as part of a coordinated action to capture some Romanians accused of robbing a truck in a parking lot on a highway in France. The action was carried out based on a European Investigation Order issued by the French authorities, in the context of an investigation into the establishment of an organized criminal group, qualified theft, and concealment.

DIICOT informed that four Romanian citizens formed a criminal group to divert goods transports. On the evening of September 26, 2024, a Romanian truck was parked on the A75 highway in France, and the next day, a significant portion of the cargo, valued at 975,000 euros, was found to be missing. The goods were later identified in Italy, and two members of the group were arrested. The action benefited from international support, including from the French Gendarmerie and the French Embassy in Bucharest.
