DIICOT prosecutors in Oradea have detained two men, one of whom is an Italian citizen, in a drug trafficking case involving the sale of cannabis and cocaine in the municipality of Oradea. The investigation included a sting operation on June 2, 2026, when the 47-year-old man was caught selling 10 grams of cocaine. Following the searches, approximately 100 grams of cocaine and a quantity of cannabis were seized.

The second defendant, aged 49, is being investigated for offenses committed between April and May 2026, being accused of procuring, possessing, and selling drugs. On June 3, 2026, the court decided to place the 47-year-old man in preventive detention, while the other received a measure of judicial control. The action was carried out with the support of the Oradea Organized Crime Fighting Brigade and the gendarmes. DIICOT emphasizes that the individuals under investigation benefit from the presumption of innocence.
